One of the ministries we've invested in is called Heshima ("Dignity" in Swahili). Disabled and developmentally challenged children in this culture are seen as cursed and frequently discarded, abused and abandoned. Heshima is a rare effort to offer hope and a future to those rejected by society.
Dignity Designs was started by the founder of Heshima to provide jobs for the moms of the children at the center. They design and make jewelry and other items, the sales proceeds of which go directly back into the project.
Sue is offering her time at Dignity Designs in helping put procedures and systems in place, and is enjoying using her years of experience in the fashion industry in helping this growing ministry.
Plot of land purchased last year
Last year Heshima purchased land to build a new compound to house Heshima, Dignity Designs and offer other community services. Much progress has been made these past months!

Several weeks ago a medical team from the US came and held free medical clinics on the Heshima site. Several hundred people from the slums in the local area were treated.

As always, we want to thank you for your continued love and support for us. Please pray as we are in a very busy season now both at church and with our projects in the greater Vineyard movement in Kenya.
Cheers!
